I got some books and clothes and stuff, and, most excitingly, a brand spanking new electric guitar.

Incidentally, yesterday I decided to start learning to play the piano on the assumption that it was probably basically easy. It turns out it's actually sort of hard-- clearly I'm doing something wrong. Come on, Esrever, what's the secret?

* A new skicap with a brim.
* Slippers in the shape of Homer Simpson's head (you put your foot into his mouth.) Surprisngly comfortable.
* A new kitchen clock
* A subscription to Game Informer magazine.
* Used GBA Games: FF Tactics Advance, Megaman Battle Network 3 Blue, Sonic Advance 3, Mario and Luigi
* Brand Spakin' New: Kingdom Hearts - Chain of Memories
* $45

I got gifts from my older stepbrother, my British aunt and uncle, and my grandparents. I got gifts for my cats, my aunt and uncle, and my mom. I made out nicely.

It's surprisingly how little these GBA games have been played. I've only had them for a couple of months, but I've already completed the main quests for Pokemon Ruby and FireRed (with only a couple of sidequests left to do).

Meanwhile, on these used games:
Sonic Advance 3: Up to Zone 4. Only Tails and Sonic unlocked.
MMBN3: Halfway through the game.
FFTA: Level 15
Mario and Luigi: Halfway through.

True, I have trouble completing CONSOLE games these days - because they can rarely hold my attention for hours and hours on end. But portable games are usually short enough that I can finish them.

On two side-notes, my stepbrother found a beagle puppy, and he has pneumonia . . .

*money
*sweaters (actually needed them)
*EGM subscription
*Adobe Streamline
*$150 in cold hard cash. Seriously, my Grandpa gave $100 of it in those oh-so-silly golden dollars. I feel like a pirate.

I got a cold and I have to work.

Other than that, it was a very happy Xmas in the Grant world. Way too many presents; lots of clothes and CDs and DVDs and books and things. Right now, though, I'm quite enjoying America (the book), while I work the Xmas night away.

Were you naughty this year?

I got a weird sort of circle chair thing to sit in while I play games, a new watch, and a jar of gummy candy. Most interestingly, my little sister repaired my well-worn, 22-year old plush puppy that I've had since I was 1. He is now clean, re-stuffed, re-sewn, has a new music box, new eyes, and a new tongue for the first time in about 15 years. His eyes are different and they make him look kind of psycho, but it's kind of cool.

Maybe if I could speak Deutsch better. Nay, 'tis a Daily Show-style mock textbook thing.

My stepbrother is a bad judge of quality.
Most interestingly, my little sister repaired my well-worn, 22-year old plush puppy that I've had since I was 1. I still have a plush platypus I've had since I was 9. I was very careful with my toys as a child, so he's still in pretty decent shape. The worst thing I ever did to him was scratch his eye. He originally wore a pair of overalls, but I didn't like them. Instead, he's dressed up in a set of baby baseball clothing that I used during a school project using fake babies. 9 is an old age to get your lifelong stuffed toy, I guess. But I had been looking for a platypus toy for 5 years, and nearly exploded with joy when I finally found one.

That America the book thing is quite funny.

I got Prince of Persia 2, I think it'll be alright despite the appearance. Gameplay-wise they did everything I wanted.
Got some slippers I needed.
50 bucks for Mech Assault 2 cause my mom knows it comes out on the 28th.
A 200 Gig hard drive.
Some money from random relatives.
20 dollar gift card at Amazon.com.
Probably something else I forgot.

Modest Mouse is good times. Long Drive and The Moon and Antarcitca are my favorite, with Lonesome Crowded West coming in second. Also, although I didn't like it as much initially, the more I listen to Goiod News the more I dig it.

Also, I gave one of my friends who's a big fan of MM Long Drive for Christmas.

EDIT: Double post appy polly loggies.

*and a samurai sword

My Aikido practicing uncle from NY gave it to me later in the day. It comes with a throwing dart and knife built into the sheathe. I know it's not authentic, but that doesn't mean it's not cool looking.

Technically my Zeta Gundam DVD set was also a Christmas present, but it won't arrive until Wednesday at the earliest.
